Everything Dropping Tomorrow — April 30 Is the Biggest Single Release Day of 2026

Tomorrow is April 30. And April 30, 2026 is, by any reasonable measure, the single largest release day the gaming calendar has seen all year. Five games dropping simultaneously across every major platform. Here is everything that launches tomorrow and exactly what you need to know about each.

Saros — PS5 / PS5 Pro — $69.99

Time: Midnight PDT / 3am EDT / 8am BST / 9am CEST

The main event. Housemarque's spiritual successor to Returnal holds 88 on Metacritic and 92 on OpenCritic, with 96% of critics recommending it. Digital Deluxe players have been inside for 48 hours and the reactions match the scores exactly — the loop is addictive, Rahul Kohli's performance as Arjun Devraj is extraordinary, and the Parry mechanic is already generating community discourse about optimal timing windows.

This is the best PS5 exclusive of 2026 and one of the highest-rated games of the year. If you own a PS5, this is your game for the weekend. Pre-load is live — if you haven't started, do it right now.

Also worth noting: April 30, 2026 is exactly five years after Returnal launched on PS5 on April 30, 2021. The spiritual successor launching on the spiritual predecessor's five-year anniversary, from the same studio. Whether intentional or coincidental, it's one of gaming history's more poetic calendar moments.

Invincible VS — PS5 / Xbox Series X|S / Xbox on PC

Developer: Skybound Games Price: $39.99

The 3v3 tag fighting game built around the complete Invincible cast. Launch roster of ten characters: Invincible, Atom Eve, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons), Battle Beast, Robot, Monster Girl, Allen the Alien, Rex Splode, Bulletproof, and Thula. Tag mechanics create combo extensions and comeback opportunities that single-character fighters can't match. Open beta in April drew positive reception specifically for animation quality and character accuracy to the source material.

The Invincible IP is built for this — the animated series is famous for its graphic, physics-forward combat. If you're a fighting game player or an Invincible fan, this is your day-one.

Inkonbini: One Store. Many Stories — Xbox Series X|S / Xbox on PC / Cloud / Game Pass Day One

Developer: Indie / ID@Xbox Price: Free on Game Pass

Announced at last week's ID@Xbox showcase and launching day one on Game Pass. A cozy narrative life sim set in a small-town Japanese convenience store, where you play Makoto on the night shift. Customer interactions, quiet moments, and story that compounds from small choices into something more meaningful. Warm, unhurried, the exact tonal opposite of Saros on the same day. Day one on Game Pass makes this a no-friction download.

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era — PC Game Pass (Game Preview)

Developer: Unfrozen Price: Free on Game Pass (Game Preview)

The legendary turn-based strategy franchise returns in Game Preview form on PC Game Pass. Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era enters early access via Game Pass Preview, allowing subscribers to play and track development before full launch. For the passionate HoMM community that has waited years for a worthy modern entry, this is the moment they've been building toward. Game Preview means it's an unfinished product — expect rough edges alongside the promise.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Empire City — Meta Quest / PC VR

TMNT's dedicated VR entry lands today on Quest and PC VR platforms. Beat-em-up structure with all four turtles playable in first-person VR. Each Turtle's style translates to VR-specific mechanics — Leonardo's precision, Michelangelo's chaos, Donatello's reach, Raphael's aggression. VR exclusives rarely get this kind of IP, and the franchise's history with brawlers goes back decades.

The Priority Order

If you're trying to figure out where to spend your limited time and money tomorrow:

PS5 owners: Saros first, everything else second. It's not close.

Xbox/Game Pass subscribers: Inkonbini is free and worth downloading regardless. Trepang2 (out today) is also on the library and excellent.

Fighting game fans / Invincible fans: Invincible VS is your day-one.

HoMM fans: Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era in Game Preview is free and worth exploring.

VR players: TMNT: Empire City is a legitimate VR beat-em-up from a franchise built for the genre.

April ends tomorrow. It went out with everything it had.

Saros, Invincible VS, Inkonbini, Heroes of Might & Magic Olden Era, and TMNT Empire City all launch April 30, 2026.
