Lord of Hatred drops Tuesday April 28. Pre-load is live across all platforms right now. Unlock times, what's new, how to prepare — your complete 96-hour countdown guide.
Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Launches in 4 Days — Pre-Load Now, Here's the Full Unlock Schedule
Four days from now, Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred goes live on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Pre-load is available across all platforms right now — and given the expansion's file size (approximately 35–50GB depending on your existing installation), starting that download today rather than Monday night is strongly recommended.
Pre-Load Instructions
PS5: Open the PlayStation Store, search "Diablo IV Lord of Hatred," select the expansion listing, and choose "Download" or "Pre-load." The files will queue and complete before launch.
Xbox: Open the Xbox Store or the Xbox app, find Lord of Hatred, and start the pre-load from the product page. As a Battle.net/Xbox title, the files should be available immediately.
PC (Battle.net): Open the Battle.net launcher, navigate to Diablo IV, click the options dropdown next to the Play button, and select "Download Update." Pre-load files are live now.
Unlock Times — April 28, 2026
Blizzard has confirmed a rolling regional launch beginning at midnight Pacific Time on April 28:
- West Coast US: 12:00 AM PDT (April 28)
- East Coast US: 3:00 AM EDT
- United Kingdom: 8:00 AM BST
- Central Europe: 9:00 AM CEST
- Australia (AEST): 5:00 PM AEST
What's in Lord of Hatred
New Region — Skovos: A new area of Sanctuary set on a Greek-inspired archipelago. The Skovos Isles are the homeland of the Amazons and home to a pantheon of mythological threats that reflect Mephisto's corruption spreading into a new corner of the world.
New Classes: The Warlock is confirmed — a high-complexity class managing dark spells, summoned entities, and compounding debuffs simultaneously. A second class remains under embargo until release week. Based on community datamining, speculation centres on a faith-based melee archetype, but this is unconfirmed.
Endgame Overhaul: The expansion restructures Diablo IV's endgame around clearer progression goals, faster access to the content loop, and new activities tied to the Skovos region. The specific systems are embargoed but pre-launch patch notes show significant class tuning across every spec.
The Narrative: Lord of Hatred focuses on Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred and one of the three Prime Evils, who was notably absent from Diablo IV's base game despite his shadow hanging over it. The expansion resolves that thread and positions him as the central antagonist as he moves through the power vacuum left by the base game's events.
Switch 2 Note
Lord of Hatred is confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 "later in 2026" — not April 28. The Switch 2 version marks the first major Diablo title on Nintendo hardware since the Diablo III Switch port in 2018. No specific date beyond this year.
